I’ve just turned 39. Over the years I’ve started to prioritize comfort over style as far as undergarments (if I buy something for “the bedroom,” no need to wear it to the grocery store 😜). I’ve mostly been wearing full coverage, high waist briefs- I know, boring. But those have their issues, too, and I started looking for something that might be better under certain clothes. Meanwhile, I saw these rated really well for comfort in an article, and thought why not? I wasn’t really sure about size- the skin on my hips is soft, and I hate that “cutting in” look and feel. I also have a problem with some panties where being a bit too “long” in proportion to the width. It’s hard to describe- the fabric ends up loose (but not necessarily wide, just too “tall”), which makes them migrate around and makes me feel like all my nether bits are not secured. Freya panties, for example, leave me with baggy fabric at the bottom, while still cutting into my hips. I ended up hunting down the size chart, which I’ve included here for anyone it might help. I only followed the hip measurement- mine are right at 37 inches, so I ordered small. And they fit perfectly! When I first put them on, there was a tiny bit of “squish,” but within 5 minutes they had conformed to me like a second skin. They stay put all day, and they’re super comfortable. I don’t usually like high leg panties, but the French cut is different- there still generous width across the part that’s doing the work, and the specific way it’s cut is flattering without sacrificing function. Now I’ve just got to keep watching for sales, cause they’re a lil pricey!
Perfect fit, mostly natural materials, excellent comfort, top notch skin feel.
I have been on a constant search for the perfect panty. (Note: My search got easier after losing 45 lbs. I feel for my bigger-bodied sisters! Panty angst is real!) The Natori Bliss French Cut Panty popped up as a favorite in the NYT Wirecutter, and I had to try! Firstly, the fabric is different. As a seamstress, I should know what the fabric is, but I don't. It's a different weave than the ordinary jersey type most panties are made with. The fabric feels stretchier, almost like a pair of light support opaque tights. The stretchy lace is also different; thinner and closer to the skin. The seams are very well tacked down, so there aren't bumps where the seams sit. I bought 3 pairs to start and of course, I have been road-testing them for the last 3 days. My assessment: They are delightful! I see a tiny bit of dig into the flesh where the lace sits, but for the most part, they are quite smooth. They have good cheek coverage and are very stretchy. I have not had to go digging out wedgies at all! I think I've found my new favorite panty!
Looking for a cotton panty that doesn’t show lines. This has a lovely cut but I’m not crazy about the lace. They do not come high enough for my liking. The fit is good but they shimmy down just a bit which is uncomfortable. For the money, I expected perfection.
Great cut and soft fabric/trim
These aren't incredibly sexy, but they're good enough. They are very comfortable, and show very little lines due to the flat lace. I find myself preferring them. Highly recommend.
I came across these over the start of the pandemic and have been buying and updating every year since. I mostly buy in black but I also have the neutral color as well for under white/ light clothes. For a comfort cotton brief these are gorgeous and chic!! The high waist is comfortable but not compressing and the high thigh is cute and sexy. The bottom is full but not constricting or super hugging on the bum (not a fan when full briefs hug under the bum) Great design, fabric and quality, please don’t stop carrying this style.
I bout twelve pairs for my cousin because the New York Times said they were the most comfortable ever tried. She agreed and was very pleased. But then I washed half of them and dried them at the lowest delicate heat setting. They shrank so much that she could barely squeeze into them. $150 down the drain. I dried so,e in the sun.no problem. I dried some in the dryer at the cool setting.no problem. So beware of drying them with any heat at all.
I had to return bc they were so big. Normally I'm a medium, or maybe size 6. I should have ordered small.
Expensive but extremely comfortable.
The hype is real. These are very comfortable panties.
I saw these on a listicle about the best cotton underwear for women and despite the price, I decided to give them a try. I bought one pair. I'm still getting used to my postpartum body, but one thing I have learned is high waist/french cut is my pear shaped body's jaaaam. These fit perfectly, true to size. They're a nice quality but also super lightweight. Hardly any pantyline, but they're not invisible. The "lace" seems like it's sturdy enough to hold up in the wash over time. That said, I can't get over the price point!! $18 for one pair, $16/each if you get a 3 pack? Y'all wild. If not for the price, it'd be a 5 star product for me. I bought some high cut Jockey as well that I also like. Not nearly as much, but they do they job. I guess these are gonna be my "nice" ones when I'm feeling frisky. Bahaha.
I found these because I'd seen several viral articles and lists mentioning them. That alone made me hesitant, and it felt like maybe they were relying more on marketing than on having a good product. The price made me even more hesitant to try them. Like so many of you, I have an underwear draw full of "maybe *this one* will work" cast-offs the creep up in the back or down below a belly in the front. I didn't want another pair of rejects. But I begrudgingly gave these a try after seeing so many great reviews. To my great shock, these actually lived up to the hype. They are soft. They are stretchy but not so much so that they don't stay in place or they bag out after an hour of wearing. Sure, they aren't the sexiest, but they certainly aren't the most frumpy pair I've tried, either. They aren't entirely invisible because of the lace trim, but the are thin and smooth enough that they would only show under wear tight, very thin fabrics. This is a winner. I've already bought half a dozen more and plan to empty my draw of all those past failure to make more space for these, my new go-to underwear.
Finally tried these underwear that Wirecutter's been singing the praises of. They are very nice underwear, but at $20/pair, I think they'll be a one and done, or maybe will splurge for another on occasion if this pair holds up well. Pros: very comfortable, pretty (for comfortable underwear). Cons: cost, front of the gusset is not sewn down. This is common but I find the material can fold and cause discomfort in the most sensitive spot. However, that did not happen with these, at least not yet. For $20, can we please sew the gusset in completely. My Fruit of the Loom micro mesh panties are just as comfortable and smooth fitting, for a fraction of the cost, and the gusset is fully sewn in. Although they are not as pretty.
It is so comfortable and it doesn’t show through my jeans. Soft fabric too
Soft, comfortable, don't ride up, or roll down. No vpl. Perfect.
Now the only ones I wear. I like them for being cotton, they are light and so comfortable. I don't want spandex material down there!
Finally, some sexy cotton underwear. These underwear fit great and the little touch of the French cut in the front makes all the difference.
These guys wrongly sent me an XL vs L (I’m 167, 5’10), but the material is very soft and I’ve realized my body needs cotton, not polyester - which I feel makes me not smell great by day’s end. They are v comfy, despite being too big
No visible lines, very comfortable, and less granny than pictured
The material is great -- soft and stretchy. But the reviews I read said that they didn't ride up in back, and I haven't found that to be true. Could be because I have a big butt, but I thought with the amount of stretch promised that they'd work for me. Given the price, I won't be buying any more.
I got these because WireCutter of NYT said no panty lines - not true. I am 5'4" and 125# - and got a slightly loose size - medium. Still a line when I wear leggings or other slim pants, even jeans. They are comfortable, but the whole reason I spent all this money was to avoid panty lines - oh well.
My order arrived ahead of schedule! I had been searching for panties for older women that were comfortable, but not granny panties. These are it! Plenty of coverage in the back, comfortable elastic around the waist and legs (no wedgies were had), and a bit of lace for a feminine touch. While I do recommend these, my enthusiasm comes with a caveat: Panties are such an individual choice, you need to try them first to see if they’ll work for you. That’s what I did. I ordered one, and because they worked for me, I went ahead and ordered more.
Size and fit as expected. Perfect fabric weight
I find the way the panties are cut in front at the thigh and the trim to be kind of annoying. I am aware of it e-bike wearing them.
Found these thru the NY Times Wirecutter article & had to try them. Very comfortable. But $20.00? Seriously? That's just taking advantage of people who are looking for comfort, IMO.
I've been searching for a substitute for VS cotton hi-leg briefs which have deteriorated in quality steadily over the years. When I pulled on a brand new VS and my finger went straight through the fabric I decided I was done with those. I think I've found my substitute in these Natori French Cut panties, so I'll be buying more. These are soft and comfortable and seem to cover all the bases. I took off one star because I never hand wash panties--just throw them in the washer and dryer--and I'm only now seeing that these should be hand washed. So that's a bit of an inconvenience for me (although I do plan to machine wash/dry one and see what happens). I just received my trial panty so I'll edit this review if I need to after I've actually laundered and worn these out.
For 20 years I wore only the Victoria Secret cotton hi-leg brief. Then they quit making it. Since then I have tried numerous similar panties but none would compare....until I found the Natori Women Bliss French Cut Panty. They are perfect if you want cotton with a hi-leg brief. I plan to buy several. Very satisfied.
I’m so sick of bikini cut briefs restricting my leg movement. I’m not doing the splits, I’m not a Rockette, I can barely touch my toes! But if I lunge to catch a falling snack I shouldn’t split my underwear at the hip. High cut underwear just adds more fabric around the hip making things work. Enter, the French cut. I could BE a Rockette if I wanted to in these. They’re soft, they encourage movement, and I don’t feel like my mom in these.
Comfortable, flattering, natural fiber, great range of colors, well made, long lasting - these are actually the perfect panties.
Best underwear, you don’t even feel them!
I have some sensory processing disorder which makes finding clothes that are comfortable to wear a real challenge. These are by far the most comfortable panties I've ever worn. They're super soft and stretchy. I was concerned about pads not sticking properly but they work great! I always have an issue with the leg holes binding but these are perfect. The waist does not roll. The bottom doesn't sag or wedge between the cheeks. They sit just below the navel normally but can be pulled up a bit more or worn slightly lower if needed. I find that they hold well in whatever positionI leave them. The tag says to hand wash (not going to happen at my house) but I put the washer on 'hand wash' setting instead and dried them flat which took no time at all. So please with this purchase. I will definitely be buying more.
Cute and comfy, but more than I'm willing to pay for one pair of underwear.
Natori panties are expensive, yet very pretty and comfortable.
I like that these cover everything I want covered without looking like granny panties however they don't have any support. They are fairly thin and very stretchy and seem to get a little looser after a few washings which causes them to ride up on me. I always wash them in cold water on the delicate cycle and hang to dry. One pair was accidentally put in the dryer and it came out fine. While they seem fairly seamless, the panty line is visible under certain pants. They are still my favorite so far but if I want to make sure I don't have VPL, I wear my boyshort underwear.
I ended up giving these to my 70 year old Mom after they arrived. They are very french cut and the extra large size that I ordered came up past my belly button when I held them up to me. I usually wear a size 10 pant but prefer XL panties for my fuller butt. These fit larger than I expected but perhaps more true to the sure chart. Just don’t be deceived by the picture... they are not a standard bikini... they are definitely french cut with high leg openings. Felt like I was back in the 80’s!
I was told these were the “best” panties. They’re fine… not the “best”.
I bit skimpy in the rear. Wonderful fabric. Shipping went well.
Super comfortable and quality material. Will definitely buy more.
I read the wire cutter review of best panties and I was a little skeptical but decided to give two of the pairs in the top ten a try. These are winners for sure. The are soft, have no panty line and stay out. The cotton is very high quality as well. I will be ordering more pairs.
Incredibly comfortable, the cotton is super soft. It washes well on warm an I use the dryer without any problem. It shrinks a little but comes back to its original shape once worn. It is very well finished and great overall quality. I recommend.
